One of the benefits of working at a co-working facility is being kept in the loop of all the great tech/biz industry events. Sometimes our heads are so buried in our own work that we miss out on what’s happening around us. It’s a bummer! Luckily for us our handsome co-worker, Allan Branch from LessEverything happened to be co-hosting his company’s 3rd annual tech/business conference called LessConf. Whether you’re a conference veteran or even a start-up newbie, LessConf will manhandle you into submission with its unconventional methods of telling you how to run your business right with a glass of scotch in one hand. This “non-sugar coated” conference geared towards business development and networking will have you making a complete fool of yourself for an iPad, something Bryce experienced this first-hand when he stood on-stage for 5.5 hours hugging a stranger.
Aside from the sweet T-shirts, stickers and great new friends, there was a lot to take home from the conference. Steven Bristol and Allan Branch really upped their game for LessConf 2012. We really enjoyed the speakers as well even though they weren’t even mentioned in the beginning! It actually made for an interesting flow as each speaker was a surprise to us and it made things even more entertaining. Spike Jones, Little Duck Organics, and Intercom were some of our favorites, but really it’s hard to pick just a few! Some of the topics covered included: the mentality of starting up a new business; marketing your brand; embracing change; keeping your friends close as they have super powers; CPA (cost per acquisition) + lifetime value (LV) allow you to make informative decisions in your business…etc. There was a TON of information to take in. Our minds were pretty much blown after the first day. Luckily, there was a good amount of “networking” aka, dance-offs to offset the business cramming.
If you’re ever on the fence about attending a business conference and learning more about starting up and sustaining your business, LessConf will make your dreams come true. Great speakers, good food and the community was tight knit and loved to party. Let the photos speak for themselves!
